The Power of Prayer
Over the last few weeks we have noticed that many of our friends and acquaintances have experienced "tough times" in their lives and in the lives of people they care about. This has certainly been the been the case for us.
We know that prayer is quite powerful and God always answers our prayers. We get discouraged when our prayer are not answered the way we would like or in our timeframe. But none the less, they are answered.
Since this website is widely viewed, we decided to make a page available for you to share your prayers with those who visit our website. You may be a specific as you like, naming names and such; or just share with us what you would like.
Please email your prayers to prayer@inhisgrip.net. We will simply copy and paste them on this page. Also, please share with us when a prayer is answered.
Father In Heaven, Thank You for all the blessings you bestow upon us. Help us always to remember that although we may not always get what we ask for when we ask for it, that You know what is best and Your plans are always perfect. Thank You for getting us through the house fire we suffered last summer and for the beautiful home we now have. Thank You for saving some of our physical memories of Peter. You are an Awesome God and we love You.
Dear Lord, Please be with us as we embark on the journey to sell our house and move. Thank you for the wonderful friends and family you have blessed us with who have worked so selflessly to help us prepare the house for sale. Grant us patience and understanding as we go through this process. Help us to remember that what is meant to be will happen, and that you are with us all the way. Please remind us that moving out of the house we shared with Peter, does not bring us further from him, for he is always with us, no matter where go. We pray all these things in Your Precious Son, Jesus' name.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the life of my wonderful husband, Peter James Bridges. Thank you for bringing him into my life and for the endless love we share. Thank you for our precious son, James Edward. He is truly a blessing and a gift from You. I pray that Peter knows how loved and missed he is, and that James and I will make him proud as we journey through our lives together, striving to be Christ-like in all we do, just like Peter did. Thank you for always showing me the way and leading me to the right answer even when I don't think I will ever figure out what to do. Please help me to be a good mother, teacher, daughter and friend. Help me to lead a purpose-driven life, striving always to worship, minister, evangelize, facilitate fellowship, and be a disciple as you want me to do. I love you, Lord, and I thank you for all the gifts and blessings you bestow upon me each and every day. You truly are an awesome God.
Please pray for myself, Heather and James as we go through the Liver Transplant journey.
I would like to add a prayer to the list...My mom. Apparently the radiation isn't quite doing what they hoped. One of the spots on her breast is not getting smaller, its getting bigger. They had to up the amount of radiation they are doing as well as continue with the shots to help her white blood cell count which has been very low as of late. We're still staying optimistic but prayers are always helpful. Jen and Becca Holbrook's mother "Kate" - who has been battling breast cancer. So that the new treatments they are trying will help her to overcome this disease.
